AMBERGER KAOLINWERKE EDUARD KICK GMBH & CO. KG (AKW), based in Hirschau, Germany, and KAOLIN EAD (KAD), with headquarters in Sofia, Bulgaria, are internationally active subsidiaries of Quarzwerke GmbH, with focus on the fields of extracting, processing and refining of the industrial minerals kaolin, feldspar, quartz and quartz powder. Our plants are located in Central and Eastern Europe and we predominantly supply the paper, ceramics, glass and construction industries.

Our deliveries to customers from the ceramics industry in particular cover the entire globe, currently more than 50 countries (for the ceramics industry alone) from the whole of Europe and the Middle East to Asia.  

We also offer the development and applications technology service in the range of ceramics. In addition to new product developments, the main task is sales-orientated customer support. We provide problem solutions in close cooperation with the respective customer. Particularly when it comes to new formulation and reformulation of bodies our flexible services and advice on applications technology are in high demand. Working hand in hand with our customers, we improve different parameters of existing compounds such as degree of brightness, viscosity or plasticity or develop completely new compounds as a system solution for new plants.
